Liquid Cheer

We sit. You pour. We drink.

Truth pours in great gushes.

You accept the words I feed you.

You want my stories.

You ask for the ones of triumphant love.

You ask for ones that league the elements.

You ask for the bright ones, but there are none left.

So I give you dark ones instead.

And those you swallow with your

drink in the fitting darkness of night.
